２００７年９月２４日：意外な天気

こちらは高い山に囲まれた。砂漠気候です。夏期にはたびたび摂氏４０度ぐらいになります。朝と晩は賑やかな時期です。その間は雨が全然降りません。

９月からは良い天気です。外で遊んで、川遊んで、ピクニックをします。

今朝、意外な事が起きました。先週の土曜日から雨が降っていました。山には初雪が降りました。でも夜までにたくさん溶けていました。

時々寒い嵐が起きます。来て、通り過ぎます。雪が全然降りません。

冬期は雪の時期です。

This place is a high mountain desert. During the summer time, we frequently have very hot weather of over 100°F. People are usually out during the mornings and evenings. Rain rarely falls.

Starting in September the weather becomes nice. We play outside, in the water, and have picnics.

This morning, an unexpected thing happened. It has been raining since Saturday, and today the first snow fell in the mountains. A lot melted by the afternoon.

Sometimes we’ll get cold storms. They come, they go. Rarely do they bring snow.

Winter is snow time.

２００７年５月１９日：車の展示会

アメリカに古い伝統があります。人々は古い車を拾って、直して、奇麗にペンキを塗ります。車の展示会はすごく賑やかです。車の展示会は色々な所で一年中あります。夏は頻繁に展示会があるので良い時期です。

In America we have an old tradition. People find old cars, repair them, and paint them beautifully. Car shows are extremely busy. There are car shows all year round, but summer is a good time because they are so frequent.

２００７年６月９日：魔法の椅子

「飛び立ちませんか？魔法の椅子があります。静かな空へ行きましょう。座って風が私達を連れています。」

ある近い山でフライトパークを見付けました。あそこでパラグライダ飛行は人気が あります。

ある男の人と奥さんはサンフランシスコから来ました。彼の誕生日でした。「パラグライダ飛行が大好きですよ！ここはいい場所です。風がどくどく吹きます。」と言いました。

Magic Chairs

“Shall we fly? I have a magic chair. Let’s go to the sky in silence. Sit down and the wind will take us away.”

At a nearby mountain I found a “flight park.” It’s a popular place for paragliding.

A man and his wife came from San Francisco. It was his birthday. “We love paragliding!” he said. “This is a good place. The wind blows steadily.”
