今朝、自転車で走っていました。サイクリングロードの上に若いがらがら蛇（ｒａｔｔｌｅｓｎａｋｅ）がいました。毒蛇ですから、危ないです。時々山から町に来ます。

「何でしても良かったですか」と言いました。石を投げて怖がらせて追いやりました。蛇を痛めませんでした。少しい怖かったです！

こちら、がらがら蛇はあまり人間を噛みません。でも蛇の噛みつきはとても危ないです。５年前に噛む男の人はこ亡くなりました。蛇は庭の家がいました。

“What should I do?” I said. I threw rocks at the snake to frighten it way until it left. I didn’t hurt it. It was a little scary!

Here rattlesnakes rarely bite people. However snakebites are dangerous. A man was bitten and died five years ago. The snake was in his yard.

やっと、春は来ました。山である雪がゆっくり溶けます。谷間でいい天気です。良かった！

遅い春ですから、まだ山の鳥は町でいます。しかしそろそろ山へ出ます。外、後ろの家で、「鳥の庭」があります。３つの野鳥の給餌箱も泉もありますから、家に鳥が来ます。「人気」になりません。庭は「鳥気」ですね。

（すみません、「birdbath」と言うを分かりません。「泉」を書きました。）

Because spring is late, there are still mountain birds in the town. However, now they’re leaving for the mountains. Outside, behind our house there is a “bird garden”. Birds come to our house because there are three bird feeders and a birdbath. It’s popular with birds.

(Note for English speakers: I have a play on words here in Japanese. The word for “popular” (人気) contains the character for “person” (人), so I replaced it with “bird” (鳥) to be silly — “鳥気”.)

２００８年５月１９日：Improve Japanese a little.

今日、このブログの記念日です。１年前に始めました。ブログを読んだみなさん、あろがとうございました！

あるところに、農場があります。歴史的な農場です。昔の技術で仕事をしています。馬で耕します。炉で金属製品を作ります。となりは小さい村です。その村も歴史的な村です。

毎春、動物が生まれますから三日間、祭りがあります。家族で農場に旅行します。そのあと、いいレストランがあるので、妻と私が結婚した町に行きます。それから友達を訪問します。夜、帰ります。とても楽しいい日でしたよ。

Every spring the animals give birth, so there is a three day festival. Our family travels to the farm. Afterwards we go to the town where my wife and I were married because there is a good place to eat. Then we’ll visit friends. We return in the evening. It’s a fun day.

こちら、春は変な時です。山で雪があります。谷間で雪がありません。ある日がいい天気です。ある日が雪が降ります。

でもいつも風が吹いています。よくとても強いです。よくとても冷たいです。全然止みません。

１週間前に家族は鳥の庭を作りました。鳥に餌と水があります。近頃は朝にたくさんの鳥が来ます。たくさんの奇麗な声が聞こえます。今朝、雪が降っていました。やぶで鳥がいますた。そして声が聞こえました。そして全ての餌を食べました！

But… the wind is always blowing. It’s usually really strong, and really cold. It never stops.

A week ago my family build a bird garden. It has food and water for the birds. A lot of birds come in the mornings. You can hear a lot of nice bird songs. This morning, it was snowing. The birds were hiding in the brush, so we heard the bird songs, but they ate all the food!

友達から写真術同好会のことを聞きました。名前はフォトワルキング・ユタです。プロとアマチュアとがいます。上手と下手とがいます。みなさんは写真術が好きです。

先週の週末、モラン・アイ・センターに行きました。アメリカの目の研究機関の中でモラン・アイ・センターが５つです。部長は寛大でした。研究室は同好会空きました。なんでもは写真を取りたい。

３時間の後でトレンス・アンさんはフォトショップが少しを教えました。

A friend told me about a photography group. It is call PhotoWalking Utah. It has professionals and amateurs, skilled and unskilled people. They all love photography.

Last weekend we went to the Moran Eye Centre. It is one of the top five best eye research institution in the U.S. One of the lab heads was very generous. They opened up the laboratories to the group. We could photograph whatever we wanted.

After three hours Ann Torrence taught a little about Photoshop.

今日、私はすこし悲しいです。

家に二匹のスナねずみがいました。ねずみ色のねずみの名前はジェリスです。

一昨日の夜、スナねずまのケースに行きました。ねずみに見ました。ジェリスちゃんは逆さまに横たわりました。動きました。背中が壊れました、どうしてか。まだいました。本当に、どう知りません。夜ですから、こちらが小さい町ですから、獣医がいません。

子供達は泣きました。妻も泣きました。私も。

子供達が寝ました後で私は「どうするか。どうする事が出来るか。」と考えました。「痛んでいます。死にかけています。」何も知りませんでした。決めて、ねずみを溺れさせて、庭に埋めました。

たいへんでした。ペットは家族の友達です。たいへんでした。

昨日家族は模型の列車のショーに行きました。

模型の列車を作ることがアメリカの伝統の趣味です。子供の時に父と私は模型の列車を作りました。母の事もの時に母も模型の列車を及びました。今日は子供たちがビデオゲムを及ぶから、人々はあまり模型を作りません。

模型の列車のクラブで沢山の人はいい頭と上手です。列車が走ることで色々て奇麗なジオラマを作ります。山や峡谷や街や当地の所や歴史上を見せるジオラマは一般的です。

詳しくて奇麗なジオラマを作るように模型の人は頑張ります。

正しく動く信号も作ります。

小さいなコンプータやラジオコントロールや電気の転轍機（てんてつき）は面白い趣味がなります。

子供にLegoは大変人気があります。Legoの列車は楽しいです。一般的な模型の列車の働きもあります。Legoの列車は一般的な模型の列車に興味があろう。

「大盆地のLegoの列車のクラブ」(Great Basin Lego Train Club) はとても大きいジオラマを作りました。沢山の子供はそれを見ることが好きです。

そのクラブは上手な人がいます。私は荷を積む所が好きです。

これは本当の建物を真似します。

コンプータ科学にゲームとシミュレーションはとても有用です。有名なコンプータ科学者の中で少しが大学にが模型の列車を作りました。１９４６年からＭＩＴで「Tech模型の列車のクラブ」（Tech Model Railroad Club）は重要の場所です。大学生がコンプータ科学の知識を試験をします。あのウェブサイトであるビデオです：

Model trains is a traditional American hobby. When I was a child my father helped me build model trains. My mother also had model trains. Today children play video games. Not as many people build model trains today.

The model train clubs have clever and talented people. They make many beautiful dioramas for the trains to run through. Dioramas depicting mountains, ravines, towns, local places, old times, and other themes are popular.

People work hard to make the dioramas beautiful and detailed. People even make functional train signals. Small computers, radio controls, electric switching help make the hobby interesting.

Legos are very popular toys among children. Lego trains are fun, but have functionality similar to traditional model trains. Maybe Legos will help keep interest the traditional hobby.

The Great Basin Lego Train Club created a very large display. Many children like to look at it.

They have clever people who made many scenes. I liked the train yard. Here are some buildings that are modeled after real buildings.

Games and simulations are important to computer science. Some famous computer scientists built model railroads in college. Since 1946 the Tech Model Railroad Club at MIT has been an important place for students to test computer science ideas. Here is a video from the club web site: (see video above)
